Savon solide lait de chèvre

Followers of natural cosmetics are rejecting chemical cleansers, which are unnecessarily harsh on facial skin and the environment. Solid soaps are a great alternative, especially if they combine care and deep cleansing.

One of the best natural soaps is goat milk; a Viking beauty secret, it is known for its extraordinary hydration power for dry and cold-assaulted skin. It is also very effective for skin with imperfections thanks to its richness in Vitamin A in its most active form: retinol. How to make it, and what are its properties and benefits? We tell you all about it in this article.

Origin and manufacturing process

The most recommended production is that resulting from the ancestral method of cold saponification: by simply adding soda lye to the oils, thetrace is caused, which hardens when it becomes foamy. The last ingredients, which you will choose according to your target, (clays, milks, virgin oils, essential oils, …) are then added. The composition is then put into molds, it matures within 24 hours. The drying lasts about 4 weeks in order to allow all of the soda to perform its action. Ultimately, there is no longer any oil or soda, but only an excellent soap full of essential properties for the epidermis.

What are its properties?

It contains vitamin A in its most active form, retinol. It is also rich in fatty acids and amino acids. Also rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potash, goat milk soap rebalances the skin’s pH and ensures hydration and softness by rebuilding the hydrolipidic barrier of the epidermis.

Thanks to the caprylic acid it contains, goat milk soap is particularly gentle on the skin. Antibacterial and antifungal, it cleans the skin from acne problems as well as other skin infections such as eczema or psoriasis, but also relieves irritation and other itching.

Its secret? It lies in its very texture. Particularly fine, it is very quickly absorbed by the skin, for an almost immediate sensation of comfort, soothing and hydration.

Rich in selenium, goat milk soap acts as an anti-UV barrier against harmful exposure to sunlight. A great way to prevent skin cancer.

What are its benefits?

1- Regulating excess sebum

It is particularly suitable for sensitive, fragile, dry, stressed, reactive, problematic, acne skin and is an anti-aging weapon. This soap is ideal for regulating excess sebum in combination to oily skin, removing impurities from the epidermis, gently unclogging pores and refining the skin texture.

It has the advantage of not attacking the cutaneous barrier of the skin since it is not made up of drying or irritating chemicals. It cleanses without removing the superficial layer of fat from the epidermis, which is necessary to protect the skin.

2- Repairing skin

Used for a very long time in the Nordic countries, this milk repairs the most sensitive skin. It protects and durably nourishes dry skin weakened by the cold. Powerful anti-wrinkle, goat’s milk fights against skin aging. Thanks to its softening properties, it helps relieve eczematous and psoriatic skin. Combined with purifying essential oils, it fights effectively against acne.

3- Tightening large pores

Unlike some natural soaps, goat’s milk soap tightens large pores. With its cleansing and moisturizing power, it also regulates the pH of the skin to beautify oily skin. The compounds in goat milk soap have the power to gently exfoliate the skin. It can therefore be beneficial in reducing a scar or a brown spot. And finally, the lactic acid in goat milk soap removes dead skin for a smoother, sharper appearance.
