Why market an exfoliating soap?

For all lovers of natural cosmetics, and beauty care in general, the golden rule is known: without good cleansing and good exfoliation of the skin, dead cells are not eliminated. If they are not eliminated without this exfoliating action; they accumulate, clog the pores of the epidermis and promote all kinds of imperfections (blackheads, ingrown hairs, etc.) and skin rashes (acne pimples).

An exfoliating soap helps prevent the appearance of impurities, stimulate blood microcirculation, to improve skin radiance and regenerate the epidermis. This serves to optimize the absorption of the beauty treatments applied afterwards.

By offering your customers the simple and effective solution of exfoliating soap, you tick all the boxes: ecological and natural, it erases, softens, hydrates and protects.

How to make an exfoliating soap?

Why favor cold saponification?

This process is necessarily artisanal green chemistry: it is a very gentle process: a slow reaction at room temperature followed by a long natural drying.

The ingredients – vegetable oils and butters, sometimes clays or essential oils – are weighed very precisely because saponification is a total reaction: it stops as soon as an ingredient is used up. If an ingredient is overdosed, it remains in surplus in the soap.

The soda is dissolved in a liquid (water, infused plants, hydrosol, etc.) then added to the oils at room temperature. Saponification begins: the mixture thickens until it becomes a soap paste. Before it hardens, it is placed in large molds. Saponification continues for about 48 hours. Once the cold saponification reaction is complete, the blocks are removed from the mold and then cut into bars of soap. They dry another 1 to 3 months in the open air before their first use.
