Carrot oil (macerate) – Prodigia cosmetic part of the plant extracted is that of the fresh roots. Carrot oil has an oily liquid appearance, clear to slightly cloudy (the oil naturally cloudy if stored cold, due to its natural fatty acid composition). It has an orange color, and a characteristic odor of oil, with vegetable notes of carrot, slightly acidic.

Carrot oil is distinguished by its composition rich in β-carotene (beta-carotene) (pro-vitamin A), in xanthine derivatives, and in lutein: these are the active ingredients responsible for the color of the macerate and the healthy-looking appearance of the skin, powerful antioxidants. It is also rich in triglycerides and phospholipids, which are responsible for the softening action and help maintain the barrier function of the skin. Sunflower oil in which carrot roots are macerated is rich in fatty acids: essential polyunsaturated (vitamin F), linoleic acid (omega 6), monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid, omega -9), and saturated fatty acids (palmitic acid and stearic acid).

As a cosmetic ingredient, organic carrot oily macerate is recognized for these effects:

Depending on the use you want to make of it, it is advisable to use varying concentrations of oily carrot macerate. For a tanning treatment, opt for an oily carrot macerate concentration of 50 to 80% in your preparation. For an after-sun, opt for a concentration of carrot oily macerate of 30 to 50% in your preparation. For a day care for the face, opt for a concentration of oily carrot macerate of 20 to 30% in your preparation.

Carrot oil works great in synergies:

-For a moisturizing and soothing after-sun: essential oils of lavender, blue cypress, rosehip vegetable oil, Calendula oily macerate.

For a tanning oil for the body: carrot essential oil, olive and jojoba vegetable oils.

-To make a day care for the face or an oil for the body, all vegetable oils: For a very fluid oil suitable for combination or normal skin: Jojoba, Hemp, Hazelnut and Prickly pear. For a nourishing and anti-aging oil suitable for dry skin: Rosehip, Borage.

-For very dry skin: Shea and Cocoa butters, vegetable oil from wheat germ.
